So a few weeks back we decided – on a complete whim – to enter our Dead Guy BBQ Sauce (featured in our Pulled Pork Sliders post back in July) into a “best condiment contest” on the Food52 food blog. We quickly realized that our ketchup-based entry was listed among really fancy sauces, chutneys, and dips, many of which used ingredients we couldn’t even pronounce. “Yeah, we’re out of our league,” we thought.
In fact, we had almost forgotten that we had even submitted the recipe, until a few days ago when we were just doing our daily food blog surfing, and saw “Dead Guy Sauce” on the home page of Food52. We were – well – shocked. Really?? How did we beat out all those fancy condiments??
Dead Guy would be honored.
